What to Expect
We have a very relaxed, come as you are environment at Windborn. People here are friendly and there is not much pretense as far as what we wear or how we act.
We believe that only Jesus is strong enough to handle the issues of our lives (John 1.14) so our goal is to be a blessing by pointing all people to Jesus (John 12.32). We consider that the unconditional essentials of the faith include the genuine humanity and deity of Jesus; that in His death He paid the penalty, which we never could, for our sins; His bodily resurrection and the authority of Scripture (1 Corinthians 15.3,4).
Like most churches we have several opportunities to connect: nursery, children’s ministry, youth group meetings, adult small groups. We also have many on going ways and ministries to serve and bless our city of Rio Vista and our surrounding community of the delta.
What Kind of Church are We
We preach from the Bible and believe it is God's inspired Word (2 Timothy 3.16). As such we believe in the Trinity: Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. We are a Baptist church affiliated nationally with Converge Worldwide (formerly called the Baptist General Conference) and locally with Converge PacWest (formerly called theNorthern California Baptist Conference).
We are not legalistic, nor are we rude in upholding our belief that because of sin we need the grace of Jesus to forgive us. Rather we focus on abiding with Jesus (John 15.5) and keeping our eyes on Him because He is the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12.2).
